Lumecca IPL

Rejuvenation, Pigmentation, Vascular & Redness

Lumecca is groundbreaking IPL (intense pulsed light) therapy used to treat a variety of skin conditions such as general redness, rosacea, ephelides, solar lentigines, cherry angiomas, poikiloderma, vascular lesions and post-inflammatory pigmentation.

Lumecca IPL harnesses three times more energy than any other generic IPL device currently on the market.
Photo rejuvenation results are observed after just one treatment in comparison to your 4-6+ sessions with another device.

Lumecca IPL technology uses 2 wavelengths ensuring that it is safe for us to treat all skin types.

What is Lumecca IPL

During your appointment, the areas of treatment will be determined, thoroughly cleansed and photographs of these areas will be taken.
Conductive gel is applied to the treatment area and Lumecca IPL is then performed.
During the treatment you may feel a mild warmth sensation however in most cases the treatment is pain-free.

Immediately after treatment, a post procedure cream and Zinc based SPF is applied.

Hyperpigmentation may appear darker immediately post treatment.

What does the treatment involve?

The amount of treatments a patient requires is determined during the consultation process. Based on the individuals skin concerns/conditions and fitzpatrick skin type generally 1-3 treatments are recommended.
These treatments are performed at 4 weekly intervals.

How many treatments are required?

To prepare for a Lumecca IPL treatment and to achieve the best results we recommend no sun exposure to the treatment area for a minimum of 2 weeks prior to treatment.
The use of a tyrosinase inhibitors (found in Retinol & Vitamin C) are required for 4 weeks prior to treatment - this will minimise any risk of post inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

Remove any fake tan from the area to be treated.

How to prepare for Lumecca?

What is the aftercare for Lumecca?

Initially post treatment the skin will have some redness and mild inflammation, and any hyperpigmentation will continue to darken for up to 2 days.
Within the first 2-3 days after treatment you will notice pigmentation lifting and the skin will feel textured.
Avoid scratching the areas or exfoliating for 5-7 days.
Avoid intentional tanning/tanning beds/fake tan. Limiting sun exposure/wearing SPF and sun protection is recommended for 2 weeks after treatment.

7-14 days after your Lumecca treatment, hyper-pigmentation will have lightened or been removed, redness will have reduced and the skin will appear rejuvenated and plump.
